PT.TMI and Cybertrend Drive AI for Food Security in Indonesia’s Palm Oil Industry

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, PT Teknologi Militer Indonesia (TMI), in collaboration with Cybertrend Intrabuana, is strengthening its strategic partnership through the AI for Food Security program, introducing a Vision Intelligence Platform for Agriculture to transform Indonesia’s palm oil industry.

This initiative was showcased at the international exhibition Defense Services Asia (DSA) and National Security (NatSec) Asia 2026, held from April 20–24, 2026 in Kuala Lumpur. The presence of this collaboration highlights how AI innovation extends beyond defense, addressing critical challenges such as food security and sustainable agriculture.

From Reactive to Predictive Agriculture

By combining TMI’s capabilities as a system integrator with Cybertrend’s expertise in data analytics and AI, the palm oil industry is shifting from traditional reactive operations toward predictive agriculture.

This transformation is enabled through the integration of:

  • Structured and unstructured data
  • Video analytics powered by computer vision
  • AI-driven predictive maintenance

As a result, operations across plantations and mills become more efficient, accurate, and data-driven in real time.

AI Use Cases Across Plantation and Mill Operations

The Vision Intelligence Platform introduces strategic use cases across the entire industry value chain:

In plantations:

  • Real-time crop health monitoring
  • Early pest detection and fertilizer optimization
  • Land condition analysis using visual data

In mills:

  • Automated process control
  • Early detection of potential downtime
  • Real-time quality monitoring

This approach reduces operational risks while significantly improving productivity.

Strategic Impact for Indonesia

Beyond operational efficiency, AI implementation in the palm oil industry delivers broader strategic impact:

  • Economic Security: increasing productivity without land expansion
  • Food Security: maintaining global vegetable oil supply stability
  • Environmental Sustainability: reducing pressure on deforestation
  • Technological Sovereignty: strengthening national AI capabilities in agriculture

Building the Foundation of Future Food Security

The collaboration between TMI and Cybertrend reinforces that AI is not merely a technological tool, but a strategic foundation for national resilience.

By embedding AI into palm oil production, Indonesia is not only enhancing industrial efficiency but also strengthening economic resilience, global food supply stability, and its position in the AI-driven agriculture ecosystem.

AI is no longer optional  it is the foundation of Indonesia’s future food security.
